The pilot program is expected to begin at the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2017 for a period of two years. Under the pilot scheme, the gourmet car will operate at eight designated tourist spots, including Wan Chai Golden Bauhinia Square, Central Waterfront Space, Ocean Park's outdoor location, Salisbury Park, Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui Art Plaza, Field, Wong Tai Sin Plaza next to Wong Tai Sin Temple, and the outdoor location of Hong Kong Disneyland. Each tourist point will provide two parking spaces for sixteen gourmet wheels to operate at the above locations. The Food and Tourism Commission will also arrange gourmet car to provide food in some designated large-scale tourism activities to enhance the attractiveness of the event
美 食 車 先 導 計 劃 是 一 項 推 廣 旅 遊 的 項 目 ， 目 的 是 為 香 港 的 旅 遊 景 點 增 添 吸 引 力 ， 為 旅 客 和 巿 民 提 供 多 元 化 、 富 創 意 和 高 質 素 的 美 食 ， 同 時 展 現 香 港 優 良 的 食 物 衛 生 及 安 全 水 平 。 我 們 希 望 先 導 計 劃 為 香 港 帶 來 更 多 特 色 美 食 ， 豐 富 現 有 的 餐 飲 選 擇 ， 而 非 與 現 有 食 肆 競 爭 。
先 導 計 劃 預 計 於 2016 年 年 底 至 2017 年 年 初 開 始 ， 為 期 兩 年 。 在 先 導 計 劃 下 ， 美 食 車 會 在 八 個 指 定 旅 遊 點 營 運 ， 包 括 灣 仔 金 紫 荊 廣 場 、 中 環 海 濱 活 動 空 間 、 海 洋 公 園 的 園 外 位 置 、 尖 沙 咀 梳 士 巴 利 公 園 、 尖 沙 咀 藝 術 廣 場 、 起 動 九 龍 東 一 號 場 、 黃 大 仙 祠 旁 的 黃 大 仙 廣 場 ， 以 及 香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 的 園 外 位 置 。 每 個 旅 遊 點 將 提 供 兩 個 泊 車 位 ， 供 十 六 輛 美 食 車 輪 流 在 以 上 地 點 營 運 。 旅 遊 事 務 署 亦 會 安 排 美 食 車 在 一 些 指 定 的 大 型 旅 遊 活 動 提 供 美 食 ， 以 增 添 活 動 的 吸 引 力
